Saldanha Bay Engagement
Mine Dust is working through community engagement mitigating and contending with iron ore and manganese blow up in the bay. This problem has been present since the 1970’s from transportation methods blowing up high amounts of dust. The dust is filled with minerals that are not good to human health, ecosystems or infrastructure.
Saldanha Bay is a leading port next to Cape Town in the Western Cape, transporting goods in and out constantly. The communities surrounding the region have been complaining of the dust problem for decades. It has severely hindered the region and driven out much of the community as well as decreasing property value in the beautiful bay.
